Unimatica S.p.A started in 2000 from Logital and the University of Bologna with the objective of designing and marketing IT applications based on the use of digital signature. The recording system used in UniWex university exams is "the first Italian application to use digital signature according to AIPA standards" and it is therefore recognised as legally valid by the Italian Government. Other important creations include the Unimoney system for managing digitally signed orders for payments and for collections between public bodies and Bank's Treasurers and the Uniarc system for managing, digitizing and storing legal documents.
Aurora is a non-profit association of agencies aiming to promote and support companies interested in starting technological renovation projects in order to transform themselves into e-businesses. Joining the consortium allows companies to start renovation projects and to access loans for the improvement of their productive, commercial and administrative processes. In fact, e-businesses are vital in the new competitive challenge that all companies are faced with in a globalized market. This does not simply entail uploading a web-site or portal for e-commerce purposes, but implies changing the roots of company's productive and organizational processes by automating and digitizing them.
