Regione Marche: regulation-compliant digital document storage system
January 16, 2009
Regione Marche has launched a general plan that involves the creation of prototype software that
allows verification of the authenticity of digital documents and guarantees the integrity of files
over time, pursuant to applicable Italian regulations. The system will be created by Unimatica
S.p.A., to satisfy the specifications and requisites indicated in the call for tenders. In this
first phase, the system will be designed to suit the requirements of Regione Marche and in
particular the applicative services that generate electronic documents such as electronic
protocols, the on-line receipt system and electronic mandates. The system will be later extended
and integrated with other management systems used by Regione Marche. As requested, the system will
be based on a scalable “full Internet” and web-based” architecture on three separate processing
levels: presentation, application and data. The basic components for CNIPA1-compliant filing and
storage of digital documents originate from Unimatica’s UNISTORAGE system, already used by a number
of leading Italian bodies and regional authorities.
