Unimatica and CINECA renew their partnership agreement for university exam registration using digital signatures

The partnership between Unimatica and CINECA (the Consortium that brings together 36 Italian Universities) for university examination reporting system based on digital signatures continues. Established in 1969 as the Consorzio Interuniversitario per il Calcolo Automatico dell'Italia Nord Orientale, CINECA is now the most important calculation centre in the University sector and one of the largest in Italy. This partnership, which commenced in 2003 and will continue for the whole of 2009, has generated important, significant results across the country, with the dematerialisation of examination records and lecture registers in some 13 Italian universities. To support CINECA’s student secretariats and electronic examination management, Unimatica also provides a range of specialised supplementary services, such as: first- and second-level help-desks, technical assistance and maintenance of the software applications, supply of digital signature components (smart cards, tokens, signature certificates and renewals), as well as the performance of and operative support for RA (Registration Authority) activities performed by the administration offices of the various universities. In this sector, Unimatica also provides a 24/7 technical and operation management activities for the web-based university examination registration service, to guarantee coverage even during weekends and bank holidays. For full management of the entire lifecycle of exam records and lecture registers, Unimatica provides a regulation-compliant, long-term digital documents repository and storage archive solution.
